Attributes of the Most High 26 July 2015 serv

Exodus.33.18-19.nkjv And he said, "Please, show me Your glory." Then He said, "I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion."

Exodus.34.5-8.nkjv Now the Lord descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of the Lord . And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed, "The Lord , the Lord  God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the  guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children's children to the third and the fourth generation." So Moses made haste and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshiped.

Isaiah.14.13-14.nkjv For you have said in your heart: 'I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.'

1 Timothy.3.4-6.nkjv one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil.

5 Immutable attributes of the Most High

5. Truth

Mercy seat always above the laws
Matthew 23:23  pharisees picking on small issues and forgot abt mercy and compassion

We learn righteousness by grace
The world learned righteousness by justice

isa.26.10.nkjv Let grace be shown to the wicked, Yet he will not learn righteousness; In the land of uprightness he will deal unjustly, And will not behold the majesty of the Lord .

Law is given to restrict what  can be done to those who did wrong. The law is good as it protects the law-breaker out of mercy.

Justice is getting what you deserve no more, no less.
Mercy is not getting what you deserve.
Grace is getting what you do not reserve.

Hebrew 10:30-31

MERCY

Who does God show mercy to?

1) He shows mercy to those who ask Him for it

2) Mercy is shown to the one whom himself is merciful to others.

3) Mercy is shown to those who will not take advantage of it.

Weak (e.g. Peter) vs wicked ( e.g. Judas)

Mercy is not a right.

How to be merciful?

Hebrew 2:17-18

http://bible.com/114/heb.2.17-18.nkjv Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.

我若展开清晨的翅膀飞到地极...

    就在那里
    祢的双手也必引导我
    我可以往那里去躲避祢的灵?
    我可以往那里去逃可躲避祢的面?
