Short testimony
1 Corinthians 1:27-29
Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God.
These are some of those verses that bring excitment to me.
When I look back my life, I have nothing to boast about.
As a child, I was the most timid and hidden one among the 3 daughters of my parents.
As a primary student, I was one of those who did badly in class, in spelling, in test, in exam. I was onced slapped by my maths teacher for scoring zero for a test.
As a pre-u student, my accounting lecturer slapped me on my face when I couldn't answer her question. And I failed my GP.
As a working adult, I had a boss who said to me during a yearly appraisal, that she was putting her head at the chopping board by giving me chances to perform in my work. Today I achieve nothing in my career. I am trained in accounting skills but I consistently feeling insufficient & inadequate.
As a child to my father, I did not know how to talk to him.
To my mother, I was selfish, enclosed and a hard person to communicate with.
As a mother, my children always correct my English pronunciation and my spouse & children always called me "goldfish".
The world (human views and standard) considers me not clever, foolish, cannot excel and insignificant in the world. I used to dislike myself and despise myself for not able to catch up. Until I came to know that God's standard is completely different from the world's standard. God chose things that are:
1) foolish
2) powerless
3) despise by the world
4) counted as nothing by the world
5) cannot boast at all by the world standard
I realised that I met all the above cateria listed by God. And I know why He has chosen me. So that I can be
1) a fool to shame those who think they are wise
2) powerless to shame those who are powerful
3) nothing to bring to nothing what the world considers important
4) I can boast of who I am only in Jesus Christ.
I felt very released, I'm no longer bothered by what or how the world sees me. The more the world despise me, the more I rejoice! Because I'm qualified for the kingdom of God.
