Heb.11.1-6.nkjv Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
2 Cor 5:9
It was Paul's aim to please God
Col 1:10
Paul prayer that we walk in a manner pleasing God
The love of God is unchanging. God remain faithful even when we are unfaithful. When it comes to pleasing God, it depends on our respond. Faith is what pleases God.
Jesus is not upset by sinners, he came to deal with our sins.
He is upset when people do not hv faith, do not believe, refuse to believe.
1)Heb 11:4 Abel - offer to God
God takes the first place in our life.
gen.4.3-5.nkjv And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the Lord . Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the Lord respected Abel and his offering, but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.
2) Enoch and Noah - faith in responding to God
3) Abraham - faith in our assignment
4) Sarah - faith to produce fruit
God is after fruits of our lives, we must go thru bareness b4 we produce fruits. Process of Purifying our motives
Give up and give to God
5) Abraham - faith in God's promise thru Isaac. Death of Isaac means the death of all the dreams and promises.
The deeper the greater the promise, the greater it is going to die and then resurrected
6) Isaac , Jacob and Joseph - faith to speak
7) miriam - faith in times of persecution
8) Moses - faith to embrace affliction
God permits trials and affliction, greatest thing he brings to us, our final destiny is in the life to come, not the current life.
Destiny - to rule and reign with him at the age to come
We are chosen in the furnace of affliction
heb.11.13-16.nkjv These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland. And truly if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they would have had opportunity to return. But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.
