Gendercide (Darrow Miller)

The rise of feminism

● Christ was the first feminist
● First wave - maternal feminism
- 19th - early 20th century
-Biblical worldview or its memory
-Interested in others (understand men and women are equal in dignity and value though different in physical structure and personality)
-women highly valued in motherhood
We are made in the image of God
Men and women are different but equal

Maternal Feminist's Fight
●Against male value system and power structure
●to get women out of the sweatshops and into the home
●for a family wage
● pro-life - *anti abortion
●abolition of slavery
● women's suffrage 选举权

Biblical framework
Proverbs 31

● Second wave - modern feminism
-Mid to late 20th century
-Secular humanism - Meta-narrative
Different understanding of sexuality
-Interested in SELF not others (god doesn't exist. I am the central of the universe)
Women value in their being
-Stood against female value system
-To get women out of the home into the marketplace
Our value comes from material things. From the marketplace  (where you make money). Yr value is determined by the amount of money u made. Defined by the society
-Pro abortion (choice) - limit women choice
-Sexual revolution - sex without responsibility
Make women equal to men (how? By having sex without responsibility) =>pro abortion

Influence of communism:
Materialism - human are instructment of production
Woman value is defined in marketplace
Un pregnant - enabled women to be like men
Chemical - pill used
Women objectify themselves

● Third wave - post modern feminism
Late 20th and early 21st century
Secular humanism - no Meta-narrative
Overthrowing male and distinction
Interchangeability (male and female)
No essentialism - Male and female are the same
There is no male sex and female sex
Stand against male value system
"Male and female in one"

Changes of language of culture:
Sacredness        quality of life
Abortions            pro choice
Pro life                anti choice
Baby                     tissue or product of conception
Sex                        gender
*biologically        *no meaning. Yr choice

Bisexual sexual to both
Transvestites dress n act like opposite sex
Transgender surgery to change to other sex

Marriage a sacred covenant (biblical)
A social contract (worldview)
A personal commitment (worldview) - marry to many or between same sex

God's maternal heart (the Creator)
Reclaiming the dignity of women for the building of healthy culture

"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!
Matthew 23:37 NKJV

God is our Father. He is the Father. He has both the paternal heart and a maternal heart. Both come from the heart of God.

The return of the prodigal son

Metaphor or simile
See picture

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
Romans 1:18-21 NKJV

General revelation - thru what He has made
2 things abt God even without scriptures- He exist and we can understand certain things abt His nature and characters

Truth is pushing up. Mankind suppress it.
Every one has the opportunity to know God through the things He has made but mankind suppress the truth.

God is like a nursing mother
Numbers 11:12
Isaiah 66:10-13, 49:13-15

Sing, O heavens! Be joyful, O earth! And break out in singing, O mountains! For the Lord has comforted His people, And will have mercy on His afflicted. But Zion said, "The Lord has forsaken me, And my Lord has forgotten me." "Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of  My  hands; Your walls are continually before Me.
Isaiah 49:13-16 NKJV

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord , "He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust."
Psalms 91:1-2 NKJV

我若展开清晨的翅膀飞到地极...

    就在那里
    祢的双手也必引导我
    我可以往那里去躲避祢的灵?
    我可以往那里去逃可躲避祢的面?
